I would like to congratulate these hard working young ladies for their heart and dedication for what they did on the field yesterday after a playing a hard fought tight softball game. Congratulations to the Lady Laurel Softball squad. I am a member of the Delaware Sportswriter and Broadcasters Association and if there were a team of the year, your squad will get my vote.

I want to thank all the coaches this year for there time and help with the kids. My daughter plays for senior league i am so proud of them winning the championship world series. On open day nextyear just say softball mom come up and i will have a gift for the little league. thanks.

I agree with everyones feelings that all kids should play on opening day, but changing opening day because of easter weekend was the real reason for the travel kids not being there. The travel team had already paid for tournaments and even some of them hotels alot earlier for that weekend when the little league figured out that they put opening day on easter weekend. Little league fixed their problem , leaving the travel teams out of the decision.Granted some travel coaches feel little league is inferior and do their best to keep their kids out of it,most good travel coahes know that the more ball their kids play the better they get. In fact some really good travel coaches have put a lot of time effort and money into little league and have taught your kids better than most little league coaches can. Please do not look at all travel teams and coaches in a bad light because of a few. I know for a fact that with a lot of help from travel teams coaches and players that Laurel has been represented very well in softball and baseball all stars. The better competition can also make your child that much better. As in everything there are good and bad sides to consider ,but I think travel teams and little league can be good for each other.

It is everyones resposibilty to help enforce these rules, they are also posted in several spots at the complex. Yes, the travel ball should also adhere to our park rules.

who enforces these rules? I go to the ballpark almost every night and none of them are followed, looks like they are a big joke. Smoking only in the parking lot, no wall ball, no animals, speed limit, someone on the board should take a look at what is going on. What about the weekend tournaments, do they follow the same rules, if so, why are so many parents walking around drinking, really setting a good example for the kids.

all teams should have played on opening day. after all isnt that the spirit of it?
i quite enjoyed the parade and was great for the other kids as well. they teams and cheer leaders all seemed syked and ready to rumble. i wish the schedules
were easier to print. i dont have internet at home right now, but wish there was
a way to have a schedule handy. can they be mailed? or too costly for short time of play? anyway….they all should enjoy. a time of life no one should miss out on.
so….lets play ball!!!!! and “CAL” CAB3 we are all rooting for ‘ya…go get em.
